Description

PG Six is Pat Gubler (founding member of New York's enigmatic musical
collective Tower Recordings) and percussionist / engineer Tim Barnes
(Quakebasket Records, Tower Recordings, Jim O'Rourke.) The debut album,
Parlor Tricks and Porch Favorites, favors late 60's / early 70's
pastoral English folk influences, rural American blues, heavy
psychedelic elements and modernist drone to create this critically
acclaimed and wholly unique modern classic. At times, the music recalls
the finer moments of bands like the Pentangle, Incredible String Band,
Steeleye Span and the playing of giants like Jansch, Bull and Fahey, but
does so completely with it's own voice. The record also contains a
great cover of 60's English folkie Anne Briggs' "Go Your Way."
